The Progress 23 cargo spacecraft successfully undocked Tuesday from the orbiting International Space Station loaded with trash and unneeded equipment.
NASA said the cargo ship undocked shortly after 2 p.m. EDT from the Zvezda service module's aft port.
Before the cargo supply departed, station astronauts salvaged its valuable electronics, which will be recycled on a future vehicle.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration controllers in Houston said the cargo spacecraft would burn up upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.
