The Alaska Earthquake Information Center initially put the preliminary magnitude at 5.0 but later revised it to match the magnitude 6.2 announced by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The West Coast and Alaska Warning Center in Palmer, Alaska, said a tsunami wasn't generated by the earthquake.
