The Oakland Zoo has welcomed two litters of baby warthogs and will soon put the seven piglets on display.

Zoo officials say the are beginning to explore their surroundings under the watchful gaze of their moms.

The facility acquired two female warthogs, Frenchie and Alice, from East Coast zoos in 2013. It took a little while, but officials say the male warthog, Simon, has proven himself quite a catch.

Both female warthogs gave birth last month.

The two litters are being kept apart from one another and from Simon. Frenchie and her litter will be on first, followed by Alice and her piglets.

Meanwhile, Simon will be kept in an area enhanced with a new mud wallow to keep him busy.
