Briefs: Internet-enabled devices sales soar

Sales of Internet-related devices increased by more than 500 percent from a year ago in 2005, according to a research group.
Boston-based Strategy Analytics reported that U.S. sales of Internet Protocol-related devices reached 16 million units, as consumers snapped up Internet-enabled game consoles, entertainment computers and digital video recorders.
The group forecast that by 2010 U.S. households will own more than 330 million IP-enabled devices that will allow users to share and access music and videos across home networks.
