Bank of America customers frozen out of website

Bank of America customers hoping to pay their monthly bills struggled to access online accounts Tuesday, as the United States' biggest bank reported website disruptions.
Amid the beginning-of-the-month rush to pay household expenses, Bank of America suffered "intermittent online disruption" according to spokesperson Tara Burke.
Customers trying to access their accounts on the company's website received a message that "online banking is temporarily unavailable."
Burke said the slowdown was "a result of a routine update we did over the week-end," insisting there was no breach of bank security.
"This was not the result of any form of attack," she said.
"There was no impact on customer information or compromised customer security."
The firm claims to have 57 million individual and small business customers.
